Is your dog entering adolescence and beginning to test the boundaries of the world around them?
Or perhaps you’ve completed our Puppy Preschool and Puppy Management courses and would like to continue supporting your dog’s development?
Our Canine Communication Foundation classes are designed to help you better understand your dog while building a calm, confident relationship that lasts a lifetime.
Led by our experienced Canine Development Specialists, these six-week classes focus on understanding why dogs behave the way they do. Rather than simply teaching behaviours, we help you develop the knowledge and practical skills to guide your dog through everyday life with confidence.
Our approach is based on over 20 years of experience studying canine behaviour, development and communication, alongside ongoing work with both domestic dogs and wolves. By understanding your dog’s natural instincts, emotional development and social needs, you’ll learn how to become the trusted guide your dog is looking for.
Over six weeks, you and your dog will explore:
- Understanding canine communication and behaviour
- Building a stronger relationship through connection and trust
- Relaxed lead walking and everyday life skills
- Supporting your dog’s emotional development and confidence
- Understanding healthy social interactions with people and other dogs
- Helping your dog navigate distractions in real-world environments
- Working with your dog’s individual personality and social character
- Practical guidance tailored to you and your dog throughout the course
- Learning and practicing communications in real time
Classes are held on Saturday mornings in Claremont providing a relaxed environment where you can practise these skills in everyday settings.
Whether you’re continuing your puppy’s journey or joining us with an older dog, our goal is to help both ends of the lead feel more confident, connected and capable.
Enrolment
To secure your place, simply complete the enrolment form and submit full payment.
Please note: These classes are designed for dogs that are comfortable around, or able to peacefully share space with, other dogs and people.
If your dog is experiencing fear, anxiety, or defensive behaviours towards dogs or people, we recommend beginning with an individual development session. This allows us to understand your dog’s unique needs and provide the best foundation before joining a group class.
For more information about one-on-one sessions, visit Dog Whispering or contact Swanbourne Veterinary Centre on (08) 9384 2644.
